I have always been proud to serve on the Town of Amherst Board, especially for my role as the Amherst Senior Center Liaison.  Our community is fortunate to have such a wonderful facility with such a committed staff.

Membership to the Amherst Center for Senior Services is available to residents of the Town of Amherst for a one-time fee of $30 for an individual  or $50 for a couple.

Non-residents are welcome to join for an annual fee of $30 for an individual or $50 for a couple.  Non-residents can also choose to pay a one-time fee of $100 for an individual or $150 for a couple.

Your membership entitles you to classes, clubs, events, programs and use of our 53,000 square foot facility.  Our facility includes an art gallery, the Audubon Cafe, billiard room, card room, gift shop, library and wellness room. 



Our Center provides a platform for those who are 55+ and wish to pursue their passions.

There are over 40 member only clubs within the Center. Each Club is led by a fellow member. To join a club, you can either attend a meeting or call the Club Leader.

You are never too old (or too young) to take part in activities that can enrich your physical, mental, and emotional well-being. The Center offers over 50 special events during any one month at the Center.

We have over 80 classes offered several times a year. Classes cover many topics: Academic Studies, The Arts, Cards, Dance, Home Arts, Music, Physical Fitness, Yoga, Technology, and many more. We even offer evening classes.

Whether you wish to be of service as a way to meet new people, pursue a passion, or simply "give-back", we can help you find your volunteer niche. Members of the Center are invited to be part of an award-winning volunteer program.

Through our Support Services, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Amherst Center for Senior Services, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. The Erie County Nutritional Stay Fit Lunch Program is served Monday through Friday at noon.  It is open to ALL Erie County residents 60 years of age or older for a suggested contribution of $3.  Guests under 60 are welcome for $5.  Reservations are required 24 hours in advance by calling the Center.



Beginning in July, we will be a satellite location, in partnership with the Town Clerk’s office, to process Parking Permits for those with a disability or those in need of a short term permit.

Our Social Caseworkers will handle processing the applications by appointment only. The days scheduled are:

July 13th, 1:00-3:00 pm
July 30th, 10:00 am-noon

 After that, the days will be the second Monday of each month 10:00 am-noon and the 3rd Thursday  1:00-3:00 pm.  They will be listed in  future newsletters.
Forms can be picked up from the Center or found at Your doctor signature is required on the form. Appointments to submit the form and receive the Accessible Tag can be made by calling our Social Work Office at 636-3055 ext. 3129.
