VOLUNTEER

Working Towards a Better Tomorrow

Volunteers are an integral part of the Amherst Center for Senior Services.  Whether you wish to be of service as a way to meet new people, pursue a passion, or simply “give-back”, we can help you find your volunteer niche.

Members of the Center are invited to be part of an award-winning volunteer program.  Our database consists of over 1600 volunteers who have provided over 82,000 hours of service last year both at the Senior Center and throughout the WNY community.  Our volunteers are a positive force in the community!

How it Works:

Simply complete a Volunteer Application and submit it to the Volunteer Department.  A member of our staff will meet with you to determine the best match for YOU.  New volunteers may choose to provide service right at the Amherst Center for Senior Services where there is a variety of options.

Options:

Hospitality Desk, Gift Shop, Information & Assistance Desk, Community Service Clubs,

Performance Groups, Special Events & Programs, and Much More!

Training:

Once you have chosen an ideal spot, you are trained by current volunteers in that area.  Our training encompasses a positive code of conduct that emphasizes “respect for diversity”.

Contact:

Please contact Jodi Kwarta, our Volunteer Services Director at 636-3055 ext. 3126
